Meeting of the International Fraternities of St. Lawrence of Brindisi in Assisi

From September 4 to 9, 2023, a meeting of the International Fraternities of St. Lawrence of Brindisi (FSL) took place in Assisi. The meeting was organized by a special steering committee and was attended by about 43 brothers, many of whom were from the eight international fraternities of Europe. The meeting was also attended by provincials, delegates and friars interested in this project, which was initiated a few years ago by the General Curia.

According to Br. Mariosvaldo Florentino, General Secretary for Missionary Animation, the meeting’s aim was to "animate the fraternities in the ongoing implementation of the Franciscan charism, especially in its four primary aspects: life in fraternity, minority, prayer and contemplation, apostolate and mission." With the help of daily speakers, participants delved into each of those primary aspects of our life, while sharing their own experiences as members of the international fraternities.

The International Fraternities of St. Lawrence are a project of the General Curia that aims to “fan the flame of the Capuchin charism” through fraternal sharing among brothers from different circumscriptions. This year's meeting in Assisi was enriched by the presence of the General Minister, Br. Roberto Genuin, and the General Councilor responsible for the International Fraternities of St. Lawrence.
